For most of us, the darker days are coming, and that often also means heartier, richer meals.
This recipe gives a little twist to ground beef, and if you own a crockpot or homecooker, it's super easy to make. Makes about 6 portions.
Step 1: the seasoning
Combine the following into a mix:
2 tbsp ground cumin
2 tbsp chili powder
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp all-spice
Step 2: the rest
700 grams ground beef
2 small onions, chopped
300 grams carrot, chopped
1 can of peeled tomatoes
300 grams fresh tomatoes, chopped
1 cup of water
Brown the beef in whichever device you use, adding in the onions as well. During the cooking of the beef, slowly mix in the spices. When the beef is cooked, add in the water, peeled tomatoes, fresh tomatoes and carrots.
Now we used a device like this, and kept cooking the chili for about 90 mins. But you can opt to cook it for less time or longer, depending on your patience/preference/time.
Serve over rice, shirataki noodles or with roasted pumpkin (pictured) and a salad for example.
