Protein Donuts

Let's face it, we all like donuts, but these come at a price.
A plain donut has around 225 calories, 13 grams of fat, 10 grams of sugar and only 2 grams of protein.

Making a healthier, high protein version is quite simple and requires few ingredients.

You can make any flavour you like depending on what protein you have, but in this case we are making chocolate donuts (of course)

Ingredients: (4 donuts)

40 grams of oat flour (or regular flour)
25 grams of whey protein (we used chocolate)
90 ml of liquid egg-whites
1 tsp of cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp of sweetener (we used xylitol)
2 tbsp water

Heat the oven to 180C (350F)
Mix all the dry ingredients first, so it's all blended together.
Then add in the wet ingredients and mix well again.

Take a donut pan and spray it with some non-sticking spray. Scoop the mixture in, then bake for 8-10 minutes.

If you want to make a glaze, simply mix about 1 tbsp of whey protein with 2 tbsp of water and dip the donuts in.

But wait, what about heating whey?? Check this article to answer your question.
