Product Review: Omega 3 Fish Oil - Triple Strength by Quality Encapsulations

If there is one supplement we would recommend taking, it would be an omega 3 supplement.
Below, an exerpt of a publication by Dr. Artemis Simopoulos that sums it up perfectly:

Western diets are deficient in omega-3 fatty acids, and have excessive amounts of omega-6 fatty acids compared with the diet on which human beings evolved and their genetic patterns were established. Excessive amounts of omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) and a very high omega-6/omega-3 ratio, as is found in today's Western diets, promote the pathogenesis of many diseases, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, and inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, whereas increased levels of omega-3 PUFA (a low omega-6/omega-3 ratio) exert suppressive effects.

Like described in the article, the ratio of omega-6/omega-3 is very important, and should usually be around the 4/1 range. However, in most cases this ratio is closer to the 20/1 range.

Compare it with a hot- and cold water tap. If you leave the hot tap running on high with little cold water, you will burn. If you balance the 2 better, you will not burn yourself.

Omega 3 Supplements

Since it's not easy for everyone to eat fatty fish like salmon or mackerel for example, an omega 3 supplement can be helpful.

When looking for an omega 3 supplement, the ingredients label will tell you with what type of oil you're dealing with, and more importantly, what the amount of DHA & EPA is per tablet.
A lot of brands label a substantial amout per serving, but most often those servings are 3 tablets or even more.

Omega 3 Fish Oil - Triple Strength by Quality Encapsulations

The bottle contains 60 tablets, good for a 1month supply if you follow the recommended dosage.
Each dosage (2 tablets) contains the following:

1500 mg Omega 3 fatty acids

The tablets provide a generous dosage of Omega 3 per day, and also quite important: no fishy aftertaste!
We tested that to make sure!
